George W. Gill

Born in Sheffield, Yorkshire in 1949, I embarked on an artistic journey that took me from studying painting and drawing in Sheffield, Oxford, and St Albans to exploring illustration at Watford College in the 1970s and 1980s. I veered away from a career in illustration to pursue experimentation and exploration. Transitioning to a more figurative style in the 1980s, I began taking commissions for landscapes and portraits, including notable works for Malcolm King and Prince Nicholas of Prussia. My art has been exhibited at esteemed venues like the Mall Galleries in London and recognised by societies such as the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. I find inspiration in music, believing it enhances my creativity. Currently based in Babbs Green, Hertfordshire with my wife, artist Annemarie Oshelda, I endeavoured to capture the essence of the world through my paintings.
